With racing in his blood, Gleason spent his childhood watching his father race in GRAND-AM and the American Le Mans Series (ALMS). Having started in motocross in his early years, it was in 2008 that the Business Management graduate began racing in Spec Miatas, earning one win, two pole positions and averaging a top-four finish in his debut season.
He stepped into the Volkswagen Jetta TDi Cup in 2010 and then the Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge in 2011, where he finished fifth in the Drivers’ Championship.
Gleason went on to win various races in America, including the 25 Hours of Thunderhill and the VIR 13 Hour, but also contested the 2014 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour alongside Rob Huff and Oliver Gavin.
Gleason joined the Craft-Bamboo Racing fold in the flourishing GT Asia Series in a bid to further his international career in 2014 and by 2015 was a regular in the TCR International Series with WestCoast Racing.
Gleason secured victories in Austria and Singapore in 2015, quickly set himself out as a race winner and a consistent podium threat, adding a further win the following year in Malaysia. He also competed in selected endurance events with OCC LASIK Racing in the 24H Series before stepping up to the FIA World Touring Car Championship in 2017.
